It's actually who you know, who knows you, and what you do for a living.

I'm big-time networking on Facebook. Mixing it up with my old friends, staying in touch with neighbors or parents of my children's friends. They see my blog posts and get a friendly, non-pushy reminder that I'm in the real estate business.
Another quote by Bob Burg...

These days I'm increasing my networking focus. I'm emphasizing the "give." I'm partnering with local businesses through a formal lead exchange group, Monmouth County Leadz.
We're just getting the group off the ground. We meet the first three Thursday's of the month from 7:00 am - 8:15 am. That's not a typo... yes, I said 7:00 am!!! The idea is to get together, talk about our ourselves and work toward helping each other grow our businesses through referrals. There's the "give"! Assuming we do it right, there should be plenty of "take" to follow!
Businesses are "category exclusive," meaning only one of each category allowed! Who are we looking for? Attorney's, plumbers, electricians, contractors, designers, stagers, personal chefs, just to name a few!
If you have a business in the Monmouth County area and are looking for this type of committed networking, please reach out to me for more information.

"We choose to give"
Very good point, JoAnna. We just started a new company in April and I have been debating with myself about getting a new name tag. I think you just helped me make that decision...Thanks!
Very good blog and you have a very good point on name tags!
JoAnna - Awesome ! Networking is a contact sport as is sales ! It is great when people (like yourself) take the initiative to grow their business. The end results can be quite staggering ! Will post this blog on Facebook as well ! ~ Chris
I like the idea of Monmouth County Leadz. Question. If we only have ONE referral for an attorney for example, how do we keep our ethics intact when we are suppose to give 3 names for some one to pick from?
Interesting point Ken and one I've contemplated. I will still give 3 names and the member of my group will be one of them!
On a similar note, just because someone is in the group doesn't mean I will unconditionally refer them!! You still have to pass muster with me!! We are hoping to eventually have 50 members! The way I figure, I'm thrilled if I can refer 3/4 of them on a regular basis.
Hello JoAnna and networking is very important and that's why I am into it!
VB ;-)
Great idea and truly worth looking into here. Thanks for posting!
Hi JoAnna, nice chatting with you today, and hope the agent in Birch River, WV can help you.
Great post on networking...networking JUST DO IT!
Networking is huge to our business ! People you meet today can really impact ur future business !
Hey are you starting to experience any listing activity as a result of BRAC yet ????
Michael, I have had one "BRAC" listing so far. Fort Monmouth is a little far from here so we don't have too many people from this direct area relocating. How about you?
We are about 35-45 minutes from Aberdeen,MD. and are hoping to pick up buyers coming from NJ. !!! ( who would rather live in Lancaster Co.,PA.)
