Calling all young artists! Monmouth County Library seeks new logo
MANALAPAN -- Chairperson of the Monmouth County Library Commission Renee B. Swartz is pleased to announce that the Commission has authorized a contest for a new design for its logo. The aim is to emphasize the added dimension of the Library’s services that are part of the growing dynamic of the Monmouth County Library System.
“Not only is the Library a place to dream, a place to learn and a place to realize one’s potential, but the Library has also become everyone’s corner store of the mind,” Swartz said. “These are the concepts we would like to see reflected in our new logo.”
The logo contest will be open to all Monmouth County students, ages 14 to 22. The winning artist will receive a $500 prize. The prize money will be donated by the Friends of the Monmouth County Library.
“This is a very exciting time for the Library System. We have taken on new challenges and have been very successful in offering a wide range of services and programs for the residents of Monmouth County,” said Freeholder Lillian G. Burry, liaison to the Library. “So it’s only fitting that we open the competition to our very talented young residents to create a new symbol for the Library.”
The new logo will be used on the Library webpage, letterhead, fliers and other Library documents.
The contest begins June 1 and will run through the summer. Deadline for submissions will be September 30. The logo entries will be judged by the Library Commissioners, and one winner only will be chosen.
